Spinal Decompression at Circle, Right on Lakewood Main Street
If you’re dealing with disc pain that hasn’t responded to rest, medication, or other treatment, non-surgical spinal decompression may be worth a conversation. It’s one of the ways we help patients avoid surgery when a less invasive option can do the job.
Spinal decompression therapy is not a one-size-fits-all treatment, and that’s intentional. Before we recommend it, we evaluate every patient to see whether it actually fits their condition.
If you’ve been told surgery is your only option, or you just haven’t found relief yet, schedule an appointment at our Lakewood Ranch office and let’s talk about whether spinal decompression makes sense for you.

An Overview of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy
Non-surgical spinal decompression therapy is an effective treatment for herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome, sciatica, and neck pain with arm symptoms. It’s also an option for post-surgical patients without metallic fusion.
Clinical studies, and our own experience, show success rates around 86% for patients with disc-related issues. Every body is different, so we can’t promise a guarantee, but it’s why we recommend decompression as often as we do for the right patients.
What Does a Spinal Decompression Session Look Like?

You’ll be positioned on our computerized decompression table, fully clothed. A harness is fitted around your hips, and sessions typically last 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients report it feels like a gentle stretch in the back or hips, and many even fall asleep during the session.
Most patients complete 10 to 20 sessions, typically 3 to 5 times a week during the first 4 to 6 weeks. From there, your plan adjusts based on how you’re responding.
Why Choose Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Over Surgery?

Research indicates the disc is responsible for a significant number of lumbar and leg pain, and neck and arm pain syndromes. Compression increases intradiscal pressure, which can lead to annular compromise. Spinal decompression is built to gently reduce that pressure without the risks, recovery time, or permanence of surgery.
Why Patients Choose Circle Chiropractic in Lakewood Ranch

Your Doctor in Lakewood Ranch
Our Main Street office is led by Dr. Vince Bertolini, who specializes in corrective care and finding the root cause of pain rather than just chasing symptoms. Every doctor on the Circle Chiropractic team, including Dr. Ben Duke and Dr. Carly Cunningham, is trained within the same Circle Chiropractic model, so you get the same standard of care no matter which of our Suncoast clinics you visit.
Serving the Lakewood Ranch Community
Our Lakewood Ranch office on Main Street opened in October 2025, but we’ve been caring for patients from Lakewood Ranch and the surrounding communities for many years as part of the greater Sarasota area we’ve always served. Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton residents now have a closer option for the same care we’ve always provided, spinal decompression included.
More Than Just Decompression
Discs don’t exist in isolation. The surrounding spinal muscles, ligaments, and joints all contribute to your support system, which is why decompression is often paired with other care, like chiropractic adjustments, to build strength and stability around the relief you’re getting.
Transparent Pricing
Circle Chiropractic is a self-pay practice, and pricing is straightforward from the start. You’ll know what a visit costs before you’re treated, with no surprise bills after the fact.
FAQs
- Is spinal decompression considered chiropractic care? Spinal decompression is one of several therapies we offer alongside chiropractic adjustments. Your doctor evaluates you first and recommends whichever therapy, or combination of therapies, actually fits your condition.
- Will decompression treatments hurt? No. Most patients report it feels like a gentle stretch in the back or hips, and many even fall asleep during the session.
- How long will my treatment plan be? Typically, we see patients 3 to 5 times a week for 4 to 6 weeks in the initial phase, adjusting the plan based on how you respond.
- Why do I need exercises or other therapies along with decompression? Discs don’t exist in isolation. The surrounding spinal muscles, ligaments, and joints all contribute to your support system, and decompression works best paired with the work that builds strength and stability around it.
- Will my pain come back after the treatment ends? We can’t promise it won’t forever, but many patients experience significant long-term relief.
- Does Circle Chiropractic have other Florida locations? Yes. In addition to Lakewood Ranch, Circle Chiropractic has clinics in Sarasota (Southgate) and Wellen Park (Venice). All locations follow the same standard of care.
