Meet Dr. Joseph Arme

Sarasota Chiropractor | Dr. Joseph Arme

“As my father entered the doctor’s office, I saw that sign on the front door… ‘Walk-Ins Welcome,’” remembers Dr. Joseph Arme. “I was too young to know what a chiropractor was, but I knew when my Dad left that office, he sure felt better! I saw a miracle occur every time he visited the ‘welcome’ office. He went in barely able to walk and came out standing tall and feeling happy.”

“As a teenager, I suffered with headaches and digestive difficulties. The doctors told my parents it was a phase I was going through. That’s when my father took me to his chiropractor.” “It was incredible,” continues Dr. Arme. “I’ll never forget that first adjustment. It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted from my shoulders. I continued to see the chiropractor from time to time when the symptoms would creep back, and every time felt better when leaving the ‘welcome’ office.”

“After architectural college, with several unfulfilling career experiences, I began looking for something completely different. One day while getting adjusted, my chiropractor said, “I think you would make a great doctor. Have you ever thought of going to chiropractic college”? Suddenly, it all made sense,” smiles Dr. Arme.

A Chiropractic Education

Dr. Arme completed his pre-chiropractic education at Arizona State University where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. “It had to be Palmer College”, says Dr. Arme. “That’s where my chiropractor graduated; where the “welcome doctor” went to school and oddly enough, Davenport, Iowa was where I was born”.

During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. After graduating cum laude in 1983, Dr. Arme returned to Phoenix, Arizona to establish his practice.
